Position Overview

HyLoSo International is seeking a Senior Design Lead to bring best practices in human-centered design to support initiatives across the State of Maryland. This role will focus on improving end-to-end user experiences with State services, championing user needs, and guiding cross-functional teams including designers, researchers, content strategists, and technical staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop wireframes and prototypes based on requirements, validating designs with users.
• Create mobile and cross-browser responsive front-end interfaces using frameworks like Bootstrap and Angular.
• Ensure application components comply with UI/UX guidelines and standards.
• Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes tied to measurable KPIs.
• Deliver interface designs (prototypes, mockups, user stories, user journeys) optimized for multiple devices.
• Make strategic design and UX decisions to maintain consistent UI across product offerings.
• Apply a user-centered design approach, conducting usability testing and iterating rapidly.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, UI Engineers, and Client Support teams.
• Communicate user research insights through personas, journey maps, wireframes, and prototypes.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of user experience and service design experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• Strong ability to create wireframes and prototypes using modern UI/UX tools.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate design ideas and solutions across teams.

Specialized Experience

• Experience planning and facilitating workshops, meetings, and interactive sessions.
• Ability to gather feedback and insights from stakeholders to drive operational improvements.
• Track record of integrating customer research into program performance optimization.

Employment Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. (Citizenship or Residency may be required).
• Must comply with State of Maryland security policies.
• Hybrid onsite role (DMV area residency required).
